How much capacity does MD Moldes have available at any given time?
No company has an infinite amount of capacity; however we are able to produce tools for very large projects. We work with companies that role-out multi-product of up to 50-60 tools, these we support very easily.
MD Moldes is strategically placed in an area of Portugal that contains over 250 toolmakers, these toolmakers and MD Moldes are well supported with an infrastructure of suppliers and a wealth of technical expertise.

What is the maximum tool size built by MD Moldes?
The biggest tool produced by MD Moldes is 2200mm length by 1300mm width. However we can go up to 25 tonne.

Does MD include an Inspection Report and Capability Study as a complete project solution?
MD offers the full package; this includes a First Article Inspection report, done on modern CMM and other advanced equipment by qualified engineers as standard. Capabilities studies are done when required by the customer.

What is MD Moldes EXTRANET?
This is a web based programme run by the MD server available from a common web browser. It allows the engineer or buyer to view up-dated project plan, post CAD data, request quotations and communicate changes. It also allows the engineers at MD to view all the project details.
The server is protected by a firewall and access provided to the customers designated project to selected persons only.

Will my project be allocated a project manager?
This is without question the corner stone of our business and deservingly any project from one tool up to multiple tool projects get a designated project manager. He/she will coordinate the internal resources to ensure a successful completion.

Are your main supplier’s local to MD Moldes?
All the steel, mould bases, hot runner and texture services are within 15 minutes of MD Moldes.

Are MD Moldes able to provide Moldflow and Warp reports?
In 2003 MD invested in an advanced seat of Moldflow/warp/cool, we are now actively providing our customers with full reports. It provides us with an advantage when designing tools and optimising cost, process and product design.
